李廣機智。 李廣是漢代的武將。 勇敢善戰善於騎箭。 漢文帝時。 李廣領軍攻打匈奴。 經過一場激烈的戰鬥。 李廣的人馬被打散，李廣也受了重傷，被匈奴兵俘虜。 匈奴兵把他放在兩匹馬驮著繩子織成的吊床裡。 想把他送到單於的大營去。 李廣躺在那張吊床上動也不動，真的像死了似的。 大約走了十幾裡地，他瞅准旁邊一個匈奴兵騎的一匹好馬。 使勁一掙扎，猛地跳上馬奪了弓箭。 把那匈奴兵推下馬去。 調過馬頭拚命往南飛奔。 匈奴派了幾百名騎兵追趕。 李廣一面催馬快跑。 一面回轉身來。 拈弓搭箭。 一連射死了幾個追在前面的匈奴兵。 匈奴兵只好瞪著白眼讓他跑了。 李廣終於脫了險。 李廣雖脫險。 因他損兵折將，被判死罪。 漢朝有一條規矩，罪人可以拿錢贖罪。 李廣繳了一筆錢贖了罪，回家做了平民。 過了不久，匈奴又在邊境騷擾，漢武帝重新起用李廣，擔任右北平郡（遼寧淩源西南）太守。 這是後話。
Li Guang's intelligence: Li Guang was a military general during the Han Dynasty, known for his bravery, skilled warfare, and equestrian archery. During the reign of Emperor Wen of Han, Li Guang led his army to attack the Xiongnu. After a fierce battle, Li Guang's troops were scattered, and he was seriously injured and captured by the Xiongnu soldiers. The Xiongnu soldiers put him in a hammock woven from ropes and carried by two horses, intending to take him to the great camp of the Chanyu (Xiongnu leader). Li Guang lay in the hammock motionless, appearing as if he were dead. After about ten miles, he seized an opportunity to jump onto a horse ridden by a nearby Xiongnu soldier, snatched the bow and arrow, and pushed the soldier off the horse. He then turned the horse's head and fled southward. The Xiongnu sent hundreds of cavalrymen in pursuit. Li Guang urged his horse to run fast while turning back, pulling his bow and arrow, and shot several Xiongnu soldiers chasing him. The Xiongnu soldiers had no choice but to let him escape, and Li Guang eventually escaped danger. Despite escaping, Li Guang was sentenced to death for his losses in the battle. There was a rule in the Han Dynasty that criminals could pay money to redeem their crimes. Li Guang paid a sum of money to atone for his crime and returned home as a civilian. Not long after, the Xiongnu started causing troubles on the border again, and Emperor Wu of Han reappointed Li Guang as the governor of Youbeiping (southwest of Lingyuan, Liaoning). This is the story afterwards.
