The plum blossoms twice. During the Tang Dynasty, Mei Kui was killed. His son, Mei Liangyu, was saved and renamed Wang Xitong. He lived in Chen Risheng's house. Mei Kui was a good friend of Risheng. One day, the plum blossoms were in full bloom. Mr. Chen borrowed the blossoms to pay tribute to Mr. Mei, praying that his descendants would rise to prominence one day. All the plum blossoms were knocked down by the wind and rain that night. Mr. Chen, his daughter Xing Yuan, and Mei Liangyu prayed to the heavens for the plum blossoms to bloom again. Sure enough, the plum blossoms bloomed again. The phrase "the plum blossoms twice" has become a famous story. Later, Mei Liangyu became a top scholar and eventually married Chen Xingyuan, the daughter of Mr. Chen.
