龐涓觀陣。 戰國。 孫臏齊人。 龐涓魏人。 同師事鬼穀子。 孫膑之學優於龐涓。 涓為魏將。 與臏鬥智。 輸而忌之。 乃以計刖其足。 后孫臏假作顛狂。 得脫歸。 齊威王以膑為師。 將兵伐魏。 龐涓至營地觀陣。 認得是孫膑顛倒八門陣。 但破不了。 孫膑用減灶添兵之法。 賺龐涓。 追至馬陵道。 伏弩射死。
Pang Juan inspects the formation. During the Warring States period, Sun Bin was from Qi and Pang Juan was from Wei. They both studied under the same teacher, Gui Guzi. Sun Bin's learning was superior to Pang Juan's. Pang Juan, as a general of Wei, competed in wits with Sun Bin. Losing and jealous, he tricked Sun Bin into having his feet mutilated. Later, Sun Bin pretended to be mad to escape and return to his home. King Wei of Qi made Sun Bin his advisor. He led troops to attack Wei. Pang Juan came to inspect the formation and recognized it as Sun Bin's inverted Eight Gates formation, but he could not break it. Sun Bin used the strategy of reducing the stoves and adding troops, tricking Pang Juan. He was chased to the Ma Ling path, where he was shot and killed by a crossbow in ambush.
